The latest version 1.1.0 of the Leica FOTOS app already contains a listing for the upcoming Leica Q2 camera which is an indication that the official announcement is coming soon:
Nikoshita also reports that two different resolution settings were added in the app - 47MP (for the Leica Q2?) and 64MP (for the Leica S3?) - this confirms the Q2 rumors I reported last year:
- No changes to form factor, focal length (28mm), or aperture (f/1.7)
- A significant increase in megapixels resolution
- The increased resolution will enable additional "digital zoom" crop option at 75mm focal length (currently only 28mm, 35mm and 50mm are available in the current Leica Q model)
- The Lecia Q2 is expected to be announced in 2019
