Potenial SL 2 sensor

Hello everyone,,
If Sony can make a 42 mp sensor with glass that, in my opinion is way inferior to Leica's glass, then Leica's glass should shine with a larger MP sensor. Once the L private spanish tutors mount becomes a bigger deal, then more people will start talking about the SL, i mean the camera body is almost 3 years old and there are barely any videos on it. it's all about sony. Honestly, i think The SL blows any of the mirrorless cameras out of the water, in terms of IQ. Does anyone care about the eye autofocus? I don't, and i shoot 55-60 weddings a year. The SL is a workhorse and i can't wait for the SL 2 to come out.

Which lenses are you currently using?

I'm genuinely surprised that nobody's mentioned the Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM for a wide-angle lens. It's relatively cheap, image-stabilized, and has the fast and quiet STM autofocus system.
The Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM is a superb choice for a mid-telephoto - it's excellent value for money. Again, image-stabilized, which will make a big difference when zoomed in to 250mm, and features the fast and quiet STM autofocus system. The most popular choice (due to cost) is the Canon EF 75-300mm, but the EF-S 55-250mm IS STM is a better performer all-round - the 75-300 is not a great lens, and should be avoided.

Hello,

I completely understand your sentiment. The quality of Leica's glass is unquestionable, and it's only a matter of time until Leica's L mount system becomes a more prominent player in the industry. As you mentioned, it has the potential to bring out the best in high-resolution sensors like the 42mp Sony sensor.

About the Leica SL, you're absolutely right; the image quality (IQ) it delivers is superb. Many people indeed focus heavily on features like eye autofocus these days, especially with Sony and other brands promoting it so heavily. However, it's important to remember that these features are tools and not the end-all-be-all of photography. I'm glad to hear you've found success with the Leica SL, shooting a high volume of weddings per year without relying on eye autofocus.

There's a lot of buzz surrounding Sony because they've been very aggressive with their marketing and product releases. The Leica SL, on the other hand, has a more niche appeal. It may not get the same level of attention, but that doesn't necessarily reflect on its quality or capabilities. I think many photographers appreciate the build quality, ergonomics, and 'feel' of shooting with a Leica, not to mention the exceptional image quality.
