The Japanese website Newswitch published an interview with Nikon Executive Officer Gokyu ShinYoshimi. Here is a brief recap:

• Nikon's sales for the 2019 fiscal year fell 22% for the interchangeable-lens camera and 18% for lenses compared to the previous year
• In the future Nikon wants to increase the development speed of new products and shorten the lead time to put out new products (Z-mount)
• "Smaller and lighter" is the future trend (while talking about the new Nikkor 500mm f/5.6E PF ED VR lens)
• Nikon's future plan: to fully develop the Z system
