Ricoh released new firmware updates for the GR III and GR IIIx cameras:

Here is the list of changes:

Function expansion contents:

  • “Mode Memory” item has been added to Customization Settings – Operation Customization.
For 22 items such as ISO sensitivity setting and exposure compensation, you can now select “Remember the settings immediately before powering off” or “Restore to default” when the power is turned off.
Items with a tick mark in the check box on the right side of the selection item will start with the settings just before the power was turned off the next time the power is turned on.
If you want to use the default settings at the next power-on, press [ADJ] to remove the check mark from the check box.
  • The number of selectable items has been increased from 2 to 32 for “Video/Wireless Button Long Press” in Customize Settings – Operation Customization – Fn Button Settings.
  • In the image playback mode, we have added one level of display method on the pinch-in (reduced) side of the enlargement/reduction operation, and added a function that allows you to select images by shooting date.
  • Added 2 types of “Electronic Level Gauge Design” to Customization Settings – Display Customization.
You can choose from 3 types: “Type1”, “Type2”, and “Type3”.
  • Added “0.3m” to the snap distance.
In the snap shooting distance priority mode, “0.3m” can now be selected, and close-up photography is now possible.
*The aperture value is fixed at F16 regardless of the DOF (1 to 3) settings.
