Arkadii Shapoval published his review of the new Yongnuo YN 85mm f/1.8 lens for Nikon F-mount (now in stock at aBay, more info can be found here):

Sharpness

  • in the center of the frame on the F / 1.8 at the resolution does not shine, but still it is enough for some undemanding fotozadach
  • A drop in sharpness to the edges of the frame on the F / 1.8
  • edges of the frame sharpness becomes acceptable after F / 4.0
  • good / excellent resolution in the center of the frame to cover the apertures after the F / 2.8

Distortion

  • the overall level of distortion is at a level typical for such lenses
  • the nature of the distortion is unified, easy to fix that in the editor

Vignetting

  • the overall level of vignetting is at a level typical for such lenses
  • noticeable vignetting is observed only at F / 1.8-F / 2.5
  • vignetting increases with focus in the direction of MDF
  • vignetting nearly disappear on the values of F / 2.8-F / 4
  • vignetting easily fixable in the editor

Aberrations

  • open diaphragms have a large number of spherical and chromatic aberration
  • better than all the chromatic aberration visible at the edges and corners of the image
  • there is a strong frizhing ( HA in the blur zone)
  • there is a strong blooming ( HA to strongly contrast fine detail)

Yongnuo lenses are also sold at Adorama, B&H and Amazon.
