Ricoh will soon fix the problem occurring with the latest GR III firmware version 1.80 and GR IIIx firmware version 1.30. New firmware updates will be released for both cameras:


Notice regarding a problem occurring with the “RICOH GR III” function-expansion firmware version 1.80 and “RICOH GR IIIx” function-expansion firmware version 1.30​


Dear RICOH GR III and GR IIIx users

Thank you for using a RICOH GR digital camera. A problem was found in the following firmware released on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Relevant firmware versions
• ”RICOH GR III” function-expansion firmware version 1.80
• ”RICOH GR IIIx” function-expansion firmware version 1.30

Details of the problem
For setting items in “Memory” of “Customize Controls” that have been deselected, their setting values registered to the User Mode (“U1”, “U2”, “U3” and User Mode Box 1 to 6) revert to the default values.

For users who have already installed the above firmware versions
For users who have registered settings to the User Mode, please use the User Mode with all the checkboxes in “Memory” selected.
Downloading of the firmware will be temporarily suspended until the fixed version is released.
We will inform you as soon as the fixed version is ready.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your kind understanding.
