Broken lens? Rockstar 85mm Macro Tilt-Shift Lens Experience

A few days ago, I shared the footage on social platforms, and many people asked me, did the camera fall? In fact, this is a Rockstar 85mm macro tilt-shift lens. Let me share my recent experience with it.
out of the box
The packaging cover is simple and the product content is written on the packaging.
The contents of the package are the lens, instruction manual, front lens cover and rear cover.

Lens experience
The design of the lens is very good, the tail is a square structure, the head is a round structure. The shape is still cool.

The maximum aperture of the lens is F 2.8 and the minimum aperture is F 5.6. The optical structure of 11 elements in 8 groups, the filter size is 55 mm.

In terms of mounts, there are currently many supported, such as E/XZ/RF/L mounts, the lens is an internal manual focus method, the overall weight is 720 grams, and the field of view is 28.2 degrees.

The tilt-shift function supports the adjustment of plus or minus 8 degrees in APS-C mode. The maximum magnification is 1, which is a one-to-one magnification. The nearest working distance is 0.11M, and the focusing range is between 0.25M and infinity.

The aperture blades are full of sincerity. This time there are 12 blades, which can be said to have given great benefits in the same level of lenses.

It can be seen that there is a bayonet on the top of the lens. It can be guessed that there will be more accessories to support it in the later stage. You can look forward to a wave together. It is known that there will be a close-up fill light accessory to support it.

The knob on the side of the lens is used to control the tilt angle. The lens is controlled clockwise and counterclockwise. The tilt angle of the lens is up to 8 degrees, which can be adjusted up or down.
There is also a locking knob on the other side of the lens, which is used to adjust the lock of the lens. Adjust the tilt angle lock of the lens.
This lens supports up and down octave angle adjustment.
At the same time, he also supports the rotation of the lens, which can support 360-degree rotation of the lens at the butt of the lens, so that a full range of axis shifts can be completed.
Unfortunately, the knob used for limit locking is too small, which is not very helpful for users to lock the rear of the lens. Make structural improvements and optimizations.
The use of this tilt-shift lens is limited. In full-frame mode, when the lens uses positive and negative octave shifts, the camera needs to be at 1:1 magnification or the closest focusing distance of 0.25 meters.
And the aperture is F 2.8, at this time, the picture can completely cover the image field. When the APSC frame mode is turned on, the aperture is from F2.8-F16 and the focusing distance is between 0.3 meters and 0.25 meters. At this time, the picture can completely cover the image field. , but in contrast, I do not recommend that users use the tilt-shift function in FullFrame mode, and I recommend that you use the APSC frame to use the tilt-shift function.
Because there will be black borders under the full frame, as shown in the picture.
After turning on the tilt-shift, it is very suitable for shooting architectural photography. Of course, shooting architectural subjects at the 85mm focal length is indeed a bit awkward, but it can provide you with one more choice. If there is a chance, I will share the content of 50mm tilt-shift photography with you later.
I am satisfied with the performance of this lens in macro photography, I have used this lens for some commercial photography projects during this time, including a few visual images of miniature landscapes, thanks to its close focus distance, so I was able to shoot such a conflicting and dramatic scene.
Of course, with a focal length like 85mm, you can not only shoot macros, but also shoot portraits, landscapes, humanities and other subjects.
Therefore, in the use of the scene, not only as the name of the product, the macro tilt-shift lens shows, it is more capable of more shooting scenes.
The playability of this lens is very high. It is a tilt-shift lens, a macro lens, a portrait lens, and a landscape lens. The 1:1 magnification ratio can meet the needs of many macro photography, and the axis shift offset of plus or minus 8 can meet some shooting needs in the Apsc format. If you want to start with a playable lens, it's a good choice.
