There was a survey about if m4/3 will be dying on DPReview. Over 50% people said NO.

I wish Leica AG would offer a sensor upgrading service. So I could just send my SL to Wetzlar for a 40MP+ sensor swop. SL is such a beauty and I expect nothing more but a higher res sensor.

Thanks Peter, I will keep waiting...BTW, I've got myself a CL with a 50mm Summilux T lately and the IQ is amazing. I have been trying out my SL lens on the tiny CL body and it was such a fun! The CL convinced me that a high res SL is must. I wish Leica AG would offer a sensor upgrading service...

When I first laid my hands on an SL, I felt the camera was like a young man and the M was so obviously a dying man of over 100 years. SL was like Leica's rebirth. However Leica is essentially an old man who is so fond of his past and who is so slow. It never gets enough of its limited editions...

This thread is about SL and too many people are talking about M. IMHO, unless Leica modernizes their rangefinder mechanics to make it sturdy which I do not believe its a mission impossible, or adopts an X-Pro solution, M body will not last for another 100 years.

Is this whole L-Mount thing, I began to ask myself, Leica's strategy and scheme to delay or avoid releasing SL2 forever ?? Let Panasonic and Sigma come out with higher resolution bodies... SL has already become my second workhorse. 24MP is barely enough for me because I make large prints...

Superficially it will likely make Leica seem hot...practically its going to confuse users. We remember in history those Panasonic compacts with Leica skin...Sony compacts with Hasselblad jackets...ideally Panasonic made Leica lens sells at much lower prices...lol.
